Naafia Naahemaa is a visual artist working with photography, moving image, sound, and material-based processes. Her work preserves African memory, allowing it to transform and endure through new artistic forms. In her recent work, the recurring use of red and gold signifies transformation, and spiritual presence — gold, in particular, resonates with its deep roots in Ghanaian culture, where it has long carried the weight of ancestry and the sacred.

At the core of her practice is an exploration of becoming. Through inquiries into inner consciousness, and humanity's relationship with the divine, she creates space for experimentation, intuition, and possibility, while resisting singular or fixed notions of identity.

Alongside her artistic practice, Naahemaa works across art direction, curation, design, and production, developing visual, spatial, and cultural projects in both artistic and commercial contexts.
